On this inspection, I quickly drew out a railing because it truly needed one. I am not spouting some kind of learned code. I am looking at the way you would walk out of that sliding glass door and wondering how someone would not trip off and break a foot. A home inspector does not just look for safety problems or defects. They also visualize how a normal person would flow around the home. This deduction is based on education and experience. I can just feel the pain of a misstep off that step! Now a real railing needs to be installed!!!
